Hello friends, I feel excited when i hear more news about this new destination: Guanacaste; now, more airlines are being added to this city, and now is the turn of this low cost carrier: Starting Nov 17th, 2011, JETBLUE will fly to Liberia (Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport-LIR) in Costa Rica, where Guanacaste is located a few minutes from the airport. I personally saw this impressive airport construction and more airlines are flying each time.


Guanacaste is located in the pacific coast of Costa Rica (northeast area) and has one of the most best know beaches in the area: Playa Tamarindo and Playa Avellanas (best know as the Little Hawaii).

Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Liberia, Costa Rica's Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR) effective November 17, 2011, subject to government approval. Liberia, on the Pacific coast, will be JetBlue's second destination in Costa Rica, in addition to San Jose's Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO), which is served daily from Orlando International (MCO). The President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, the nation's Presidential Minister, Carlos Benavides, and the Minister of Tourism, Allan Flores, joined JetBlue officials in making this announcement earlier today at the presidential palace in San Jose.
